Q: What is Career & Technical Education?
A: Career & Technical Education combines high academic expectations with the relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare students for additional education or careers in high demand professions.
Q: What is a pathway?
A: A pathway is a series of technical classes all preparing you for a certain occupation.
Q: How many pathways are offered at WHS?
A: There are 16 pathways currently offered at WHS. Each pathway is discussed further within this site.
Q: How does a student complete a pathway and what are the benefits of completing a pathway?
A: A student must earn 3 credits within a pathway to complete it. By completing a pathway students can gain technical skill proficiency as well as earn an industry recognized certificate.
Q: Can a student be involved in multiple pathways?
A: Yes. If a student takes a class that's in multiple pathways, that class will count towards both pathways.
Q: What is an articulation agreement?
A: An articulation agreement is a contract between Wellington High School and a post-secondary institution. Each pathway at WHS has an articulation agreement that allows students to earn post- secondary credit or tuition waivers at various Kansas colleges.
